An Important Quote

I found this quote on a newsletter that I get from David Jeremiah's Turning Point Ministries.

Seeking to please God in little matters is a test of real devotion and love. Let your aim be to please our dear Lord perfectly in little things.
Jean Grou

My version of the last quote:

It's not about making a big splash in life, it's learning to jump in even when it's hard.

My Birthday

I was unable to post on my birthday (June 10) but, I decided I would write about it now. The day was filled with excitement since I was with my family in the Smoky Mountains. A few of us enjoyed a day at the lake eating sandwiches and just hanging out. Later in the day we shopped till we dropped at a tanger outlet mall in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I had birthday money to spend, which was exciting, yet it was hard for me to spend. People who know me well laugh and even get plain frustrated with how I save my money instead of spend it on shopping trips. I mean, the purpose is to spend it, right? Anyways, it was one of my best birthdays ever, and I am so grateful that I was born seventeen years ago to my beloved mother and father, Lisa and Doug Cherry. Thanks for having me Mom and Dad!

Vacationing

The past three weeks I have been on three different trips. The first was our families annual vacation. This year we went to the smoky mountains. The trip lasted for eight days and upon returning home, another trip awaited me. This time Tara, my grandmother, Hannah, Lydia, Tara, Ryan, and I went to Shipshewana, Indiana to tour amish country. It was a great experience filled with different activites. We ate home cooked amish meals, enjoyed a buggy ride, and shopping in the local gift shops. My third trip was a trip I went alone on to Texas. I was priviliged to go to a summer camp called extreme camps. It was a stretching and enjoyable experience for me. Above all, I am glad to be sleeping in my own bed again, but I am incredibly grateful for the past couple of weeks I have been able to enjoy many different activities. You will hear more about these past few weeks in future blog posts!

The things I do!

On Monday I was busy talking to Hannah while we were cooking lunch. I forgot about the taco shells I had put in the broiler several minutes earlier. Let's just say, the next time I looked at the oven there was a huge fire on the inside. I was oblivious to how I could get it out, so I quickly called mom and the boys called dad inside. He fortunately got the fire out in just the right time. I was afraid I was going to burn the house down. Oops!
