Disappointments - We All Have Them

We all have them. Those nagging little creatures that always seem to wiggle themselves into our lives. Some big and some small, they all seem to hurt. Sometimes, even the smallest ones are the ones that hurt the most. I remember when I was trying to get my drivers license, but everytime I was on my way to take the test, something would come up. Every time, my heart was broken. Every time, there was a tear in my eye (or running down my cheeks, freely). The key to dealing with disappointments is to first, know they will come, and second, be ready to have a smile on your face when they do.

Matthew 19:14

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Do you remember when you were a little child and you weren't concerned about life? You didn't think past the moment you were already in. You were perfectly content with life the way it was. However, as you got older, you were troubled about how to pay for gas or how you would get an a A+ in your college course or even how to provide food for your family. The Bible tells us in Matthew 19:14 that the kingdom of heaven belongs to little children. Therefore, we must revert back to a childlike faith that everything is going to be ok. Don't focus so much on what is to come, but what is now! Trust Jesus! He never said anything that wasn't true. Become like a little child. Rest in His arms.

A Special Person In My Life

Do you have a special person in your life that knows exactly the words to say at exactly the right moment? My mom is such a comfort to me. She can feel when I am struggling with anxiety or pain and seems to know exactly what to do to help. Thank you, God, for sending me to the perfect family!

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Lagging Behind

Do you ever feel like you cannot keep up with the pace of life? I have been in school for a month now, and it feels like it has gone by incredibly fast because of how busy I have been. Transporting, homework, late nights studying for exams, etc. I guess you can only take life one step at a time. Right now I am stepping towards my bed. Good night!

Love Comes Softly Theme

Whenever I hear the theme to Love Comes Softly, I immediately remember a time in my life when I was younger and I didn't have to carry so much of the weight of the world on my shoulders. I miss those days. I wish I could be young again. It is a comfort to know the Bible says that my youth is renewed like the eagles.
I hope you enjoy the music to this film like I have over the years.

The Joys Of Growing Up In A Big Family

This Monday, I am presenting a speech in my class about living in a big family and I wanted to share my intro with all of my blogging friends.

Imagine walking into your kitchen and your little brother is zooming cars across the floor. Then you walk into the dining area and your sister is singing at the top of her lungs, and then as you are walking through the hallway you here a beginner banging away at the piano and you just want to cover your ears. This is how my house is on a daily basis. Honestly, I am used to it, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Tomorrow I will try to post the best part of my speech. It was when my dad locked me out of the house when I was six (on accident) because he thought I was a robber.

The Cry Of My Heart

Jesus, You are all I need! When everything is crumbling around me, hold me up. Let me find You when I seek You with my whole heart. Help me to spread Your light and love where darkness prevails. I claim everywhere that the sole of my feet treads as Yours. Help me to be confident in every situation I find myself in today. I know that I am more than a conqueror. I want to be Yours Jesus. Show me the way! Help me to walk into your perfect plan for my life.

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.        ~Isaiah 26:3-4~
